What we process and why
Visiting the site
When you open a page, our web server automatically records a standard access log entry: your IP address, the date and time, the requested address, the referring page, the HTTP status and your browser’s user agent. We use these logs only to run the site securely, to detect abuse and to fix errors.
- Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Retention: log files are deleted automatically after 14 days, unless a specific entry is needed to investigate an attack.
The site loads its fonts, images and scripts from our own server. Unless you accept analytics cookies (see below), no data is sent to third parties when you browse it.
Analytics (only with your consent)
When you first visit the site, a banner asks whether we may use Google Analytics. If you click “Accept”, the Google Analytics script is loaded and sets cookies to tell visits apart. We then see statistics such as the number of visits, the pages viewed, how visitors found the site, the approximate location (country, city) and the type of device and browser. We use them only to improve the site and to see which products interest visitors. If you click “Reject” or ignore the banner, Google Analytics is not loaded at all and no data is sent to Google.
- Provider: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, acting as our processor.
- Cookies:
_gaand_ga_<ID>, which distinguish visitors; they expire after 2 years. Your choice itself is stored in your browser (local storage) for 12 months, after which we ask again. - Settings: IP addresses are not stored by Google Analytics 4, Google signals and advertising features are switched off, and no data is shared for advertising.
- Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and the national rules on storing information on your device). You can withdraw it at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page; this does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
- Retention: event-level data is kept in Google Analytics for 2 months; afterwards only aggregated statistics remain.
Contacting us
If you write to us by e-mail or call us, we process the data you give us (usually your name, e-mail address or phone number and the content of your message) to answer your enquiry, including enquiries about becoming a TAIDEA retailer.
- Legal basis: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) or our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Retention: for as long as needed to handle the enquiry, and afterwards for the limitation period of any related claims.
Links to shops and maps
“Where to buy” and the product pages link to independent online shops and, for local stores, to Google Maps. These links only open when you click them. From then on, the shop or Google is responsible for your data under its own privacy policy.
Recipients
Your data may be processed on our behalf by providers of IT and hosting services, by our e-mail provider and, if you consent to analytics, by Google, under data processing agreements. We may disclose data to public authorities where the law requires it. We do not sell personal data.
Transfers outside the EEA
If you consent to analytics, Google may process the data in the United States as well. Google LLC is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, for which the European Commission has adopted an adequacy decision; Google also uses the Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. If a service provider we use for e-mail processes data outside the EEA, this is done on the same legal bases.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access your data and receive a copy (Art. 15),
- have inaccurate data corrected (Art. 16),
- have your data erased (Art. 17),
- restrict processing (Art. 18),
- data portability (Art. 20),
- object to processing based on our legitimate interest (Art. 21),
- withdraw your consent to analytics at any time (Art. 7(3)).
To use any of these rights, write to sklep@mediajet.pl. We will reply without undue delay and at the latest within one month.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority: in Poland, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych, ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warszawa), or the data protection authority of the EU country where you live or work.
Automated decisions
We do not make automated decisions about you. Analytics statistics are used only in aggregate.
Changes
We may update this policy, for example when we add new features to the site. The current version is always published on this page together with its date.
